Angelica is an impressive architectural herb. It is best known for its decorative use on cakes. Young leaves can be used in salads. Medicinally used for digestive problems, gastric ulcers, circulation, migraine, catarrh, flu.
  • Hardy biennial
  • Height 1-2.5m
  • Umbels of flowers with round greenish white flower clusters and large deeply divided leaves. June/July flowering. Seeds freely.
  • Partial to full shade at back of boarder
  • Reliably moist soil
  • Remove spent flowers to prevent die back and encourage second year flowering
  How to grow Sow into seed trays onto moist compost and cover with vermiculite or fine compost. Prick out into pots/containers when the two seed leaves are showing. Grow on in partial shade. Harvest Harvest young stems in the second year of growth for candied Angelica. For tender roots harvest in the Autumn of the first or second year.
