Dill is used for pickling, for salads, with fish, for sauces. Both the leaves and seeds can be used. Stems may be used to flavour meats and stocks and remove before serving. Medicinally used to improve digestion.

  • Sunny sheltered position.  Can be grown indoors
  • Fertile moist and well drained soil
  • Avoid close proximity to fennel, as cross pollination can occur and flavours muddle.
How to grow Sow directly onto moist compost into small pots and cover with vermiculite or fine compost. Pot on or plant out when roots are developed. Alternatively sow into shallow drills outdoors. Cover seed with fine soil. Thin as required when large enough to pull. Harvest Harvest leaf when required.
