Rosemary – Seeds
Rosemary is used in Italian cooking and is fabulous with Lamb and other meats and vegetables. Medicinally it relaxes spasms and has antiseptic properties.
- Hardy evergreen perennial
- Height 1.5-2m
- Woody evergreen shrub, with blunt needle like leaves and pale to dark blue flowers
- Enjoys a sunny, sheltered position
- Well drained soil
- Remove dead stems in the spring. Prune after flowering to encourage bushy growth.
Sow into seed trays onto moist compost and cover with vermiculite or fine compost. Prick out into pots/containers when the two seed leaves are showing. Grow on in a sunny spot. Rosemary prefers very well-drained and less fertile conditions.
Harvest when required. Cut sprigs when required not cutting too far into the wood to maintain a healthy plant.
