Called
'Mushroom Plant' due to its mushroom flavour. Its glossy leaves can be eaten raw in a salad or can be cooked. The mushroom plant has a crisp texture and is high in vitamin C and iron and higher in protein than mushrooms. It is a bushy plant and is popular in Papua New Guinea. Add towards the end of cooking so as not to loose its texture and appearance.
