Thick juicy stems of Lemongrass are often used in curries, soups or sauces for a citrus flavour. Used frequently in Thai dishes. Leaves can be infused to make a tea. Foliage can be tied and used as a soup flavouring.

  • Clump forming with juicy stems and grass like blueish green grass strap-like leaves
  • Sunny position
  • Well drained moist soil
  • Needs a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius. Store in heated greenhouse in winter or treat as a houseplant
How to grow Sow into seed trays onto moist compost and cover with vermiculite or fine compost. Prick out into pots/containers when the seed leaves are showing. Protect from frosts and retain over 5 degrees Celsius.
