Last year certainly was a challenge. We were really looking forward to our first ever RHS Chelsea Flower Show exhibit and were putting the final touches on our plans. Neil had been up to London to speak at the Chelsea press launch and our show herbs and edible plants were looking amazing, ‘our best yet’, as Neil says (… each year!). Our calendar of events was brimming and full of promise for the year ahead, travelling to flower shows and food festivals to meet and greet our fellow plant lovers, or so we thought.
I have to say our launch timing for our web-shop was impeccable, coinciding with the closure of pretty much everything. Little did we realise when we started our nursery, we would become expert box sealers and logistics managers too. We have found sustainable means of packaging plants, which are sent in a way we would hope to receive them ourselves and as a result have received so many thank yous for both the quality of our herbs, as well as for the packaging we have used.
This Summer holds promise for everyone to feel a bit more like our old selves again and get back to a bit more normality. We can travel about, see people, and for us we will be able to see our customers face to face again and show off our lovely herbs and other edible plants in our displays. Now we are in Spring again, the online orders are once again picking up pace, I reflect on the year gone by. I now wonder if our floral displays of the future will be wrapped in a box?
This year we hope to see you at: RHS Flower shows Hampton Court, Tatton Park, Malvern, at BBC Gardeners World Live, RHS Gardens Wisley and Rosemoor, Toby Bucklands Garden Festival and EAT festivals throughout the South West…..
