Rampion has green leaves with bell shaped lilac flowers on tall stems. Prefers fertile, moist, free-draining soil, sun/part shade. The leaves, roots and shoots of this plant are edible. The roots have a nutty sweet flavour and can be used like a radish. Edible leaves may be eaten like spinach, directly after harvesting or cooked.
